We met in Bali in March 2025. Renata lived in Russia and I lived in Peru. Two people from different countries, with different languages and cultures, crossed paths by chance thousands of kilometres from home.

A few months later, Renata travelled to Peru for the first time. What began as an unexpected encounter grew very quickly, because we discovered something more important than distance or language: we were both looking for the same thing. A serious relationship, a family and a life built together. We got married in December 2025.

Sometimes we think about how unlikely it was that we met at all. If either of us had travelled on another date, chosen another place or simply taken a different path that day, we would probably never have met.

That thought is where LatSlav came from.

We can't create the magic between two people, and we can't promise anyone they will find love. But we can do something that used to be much harder: bring together real people who share similar intentions and expectations, even when they live thousands of kilometres apart and speak different languages.

Today technology makes distance shorter and even language much less of a barrier. That is why we use tools that make it easier for people from different cultures to communicate and get closer. And before anyone becomes part of our community, we talk with each member personally over a video call to learn who they are, what they are looking for and what they expect.

LatSlav grew out of our own story and a very simple idea: we were fortunate to meet by chance, and we want to use technology and what we lived through to create more chances for other people to find each other.
